Purpose of the role

Courier Service Expert will be responsible for, managing, coordinating, planning, and overseeing tasks involving service implementation and improvement activities within SMO locations. This role will coordinate business plan preparations using sales data and expected volumes and oversees proper equipment and software requirements. After budget approval, actively works with regional managers in the implementation phase and hands over functional service to them. For existing service locations, collects data and plans improvement activities and realizes the plans.

Effectively contributes to the achievement of the SMO Group vision to enhance and develop our global services, aiming to improve our status as a major provider of clinical trials logistic services worldwide, while meticulously maintains the highest operational standards and a customer-oriented approach.

The Courier Services area is dealing with transporting pharmaceutical medicines, kits, equipment or samples and new medicinal products under investigational phases to clinics and other sites participating in clinical trials. These products are handled with special care in special conditions by couriers especially trained along certain processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise and coordinate with managers to monitor the need for growth in terms of xisting and future courier services.
• Initiates procedures to better track all missions, driver's performance, maintenance, and accountability of everything that is transported.
• Establish service model for the scope of courier services that delivers to clinics but eventually evolve to delivery to and collection from patients with time specific pressure.
• Will oversee and adapt to various regulations in the different countries.
• Collects data and plans improvement activities to realize business plans.
• Working together with market analyst to set up business plan of courier services in the planned countries within SMO Group.
• Creates and works on process flow and timeline.
• Plan service implementation in the countries where this service is not yet presented.
• Helps and assist country managers to implement Courier Services in different locations

What will you need to be successful in your job?

• Have extensive experience and knowledge of transport management, distribution services.
• Know route planning and resource planning methodologies relevant to currier services.
• General knowledge of telematic services, tools, systems that measure the efficiency of delivery services.
• Project management with problem solving skills.
• Advanced English language skills.
• Analytic mindset, who sees continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree (engineering, logistics, business management).
• Able to adopt to different regulatory environments.
• Worked with transport management systems before and preferrable able to carry out an implementation plan.
• Telematics Services knowledge.
• Experience in a preferably global logistics company.
• Experience in the Clinical Trial/ Pharmaceutical industry or logistics areas is an advantage.
• Experience in similar service development processes.

• Fluent in English language written and verbal, especially good in virtual business relationship management skill

• Able to travel when situation allows and needed (max 20% in “normal times”)
