QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Koç University Information Technology Directorate will be hiring an Educational Technology Specialist with the below mentioned qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Educational Technology or related field from an accredited university
  • 3 years of professional experience. Work experience at a Higher Education institution is preferred
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills in both English and Turkish
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong pedagogical background to partner with faculty and ensure alignment between academic needs and the technical toolbox
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with diverse faculty, staff, and students and gathering feedback through surveys, focus groups, or other means
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering training and support services to diverse audiences, such as faculty, staff, and/or students, in a variety of modalities
  • Demonstrated experience with Learning Management Systems (preferably Blackboard), MOOC platforms (preferably Open EdX), online assessment, proctoring, and plagiarism tools, virtual classroom, communication and collaboration technologies (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, Big Blue Button), video content management systems (Panopto, Kaltura etc.), lecture capture systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging classroom and instructional technologies and pedagogies that promote active learning and engagement
  • Familiarity with accessible technologies and universal design principles
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator etc.
  • Proficiency in instructional video recording (familiarity with video filming equipment) and editing, experience with video/audio editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Screenflow, Panopto, Vyond, Audacity, Adobe Audition etc.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator etc.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to learn new educational technologies and assist in their implementation
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel and Word)
  • Ability to use content management systems (WordPress)
  • Ability to make presentations in English
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, PHP, Java Script
  • Proficiency in instructional design
  • Experience with authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate and Camtasia
  • Flexibility in work schedule as needed

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Investigate, pilot and/or recommend new technology solutions to support learning
  • Provide support to campus community in use of educational technology tools
  • Stay informed about emerging instructional software, classroom design, and pedagogical applications of technology to facilitate active learning
  • Maintain technical expertise in areas such as learning management systems, e-portfolios, lecture capture, classroom design and standards, accessibility, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Learning and Teaching in support of faculty development (e.g., design, implementation and assessment of pedagogical workshops; synchronous and asynchronous training sessions; individualized one-on-one support and nurturing of tech-assisted pedagogies)
  • Assist with reviewing learning spaces to foster technology adoption and new ways of learning.
  • Produce quality learning videos/presentations with content from faculty. Services include studio shooting, editing, creating computer animations and publishing the material.
  • Help faculty members use Learning Management Systems, lecture capture systems and other relevant educational technology and design fully online/blended courses effectively
  • Conduct workshops on educational technologies for students, teaching assistants and faculty members
  • Manage and maintain LMS and relevant systems
  • Establish and maintain relationship with vendors
  • Shoot and edit videos for online courses and COURSERA courses 
  • Help faculty members use different tools and devices in their lectures such as online immediate response systems, tablets and digital notepads
  • Create training modules and documentation on use of technologies used to deliver instruction
  • Recommend, advise and implement alternative digital learning solutions/approaches
  • Operate recording studio equipment
  • Guide faculty members to record instructional videos and creating multimedia content as needed
